Question!!
Anyone have any recommendations for a kitlens upgrade? I have the 18-55mm and want a zoom lens with a low f/stop. Dont need anything more than 100mm really... Want to use it for on the go portraits/event photog.
I really want the 24-70mm but its soo expensive and i dont think i am experienced enough to have an L lens just yet...

anyone have any ideas?

oh and my 50mm f/1.8 which i havent even had for a  year, broke. I sent it in, and hopefully will get a new one.....so ya. Stuck with just that 18-55mm atm. dont like it at all -.-

any help would be great!

Hey all
10 days ago I was a photographer at an engagement party for a Muslim wedding. It was my first official, paid event and I am really happy with the photos! They wanted me to edit some shots in my vintage/lomo style, so I will be uploading some of those. I also have a bunch of random shots from various things from the past year that i still need to upload.

Also, I might be the photographer for the wedding that follows the engagement party, not sure yet, but I'm so excited! And it means that it is really time for me to get a new lens. I have been told that the 24-70mmL is an amazing lens, of course because its an L, but a good wedding lens, plus general purpose. I just don't exactly have $1300 sitting around.

I do need an upgrade from my kit lens, the 18-55mm. I need something with much better image quality.

I also really need to photograph my paintings that i have done over the past year...they have been building up!!!

So make sure you watch out for my new photos

So i haven't bee on here in AGES. i have been sooo busy with school, its ridiculous. I'm taking 18 units, so 5 classes...and i have work work work every night. I do have photos to upload, as well as paintings to take pictures of...so bear with me..if you are even out there still watching me... arg. I have 10,150 deviations in my watch list to shift through....so much good art coming out too!

i am planning on getting the 60mm macro lens. it will do pretty much the same as a 50mm but with macro capabilities, which i really want. i really want a good bokeh lens, i know the 50mm might be better for that, but right now i want macro too...idk.

any suggestions?

So I am about to go set up and take some portrait shots. I've been wanting to explore this idea of mine, and now I am finally going to go do it. I wish I had a 50mm to use while I do it...I think I am going to buy it within this month. I am just going to get the 50mm f/1.8 because its so cheap. I just ordered a remote control for my camera. FINALLY omg. Taking pictures of yourself without a remote has been...interesting. yay for being cheap!

Anyway, I need some good summer shots as well...Shouldn't be hard, its just going out in the hot sun. I want to go up to Victorville..aka the high desert, where its 107degrees daily, where my best friend lives, and get some good pictures from the desert, at sunset, etc.

Ok I am off! Hopefully I'll have some to post when I'm done

Finally my xbox is back. its been a rough two weeks without videogames omg..

On an art note, i posted on my facebook that i needed a model for photoshoots (and i still need models!!! so if your up to it, and in los angeles/san bernadino counties...im here!). I got one! She needs shots of her cosplay outfits, but i bet i can also get her to model for more than just that.

I really wish i lived in somewhere with more landscaps..with meadows/fields.. We do here in Pomona, CA, lots of cows, horses, sheep, but all private property of course, so i would have to ask permission. an extra step.. And because i live on campus, i dont exactly have a backyard... but if i search a little more Cal Poly Pomona does have some nice places.

Though I do have some ideas for some self portraits that i will start on next week. I really need a remote shutter release. Preferably wireless. Yes, they are cheap, i just need to order it.

FINALLY, i am wanting a new lens. I have the 18-55mm kit lens, and i used to have the 70-300mm telephoto lens, but gave it to my dad because i rarely used it. I am thinking of a macro, but lately i've been inspired by artists like ~nerdynotdirty and ~sparkbearer and photographers like them, and so i've been thinking about just getting the 50mm 1.4, and no macro now. arg. idk.

any tips? what do you use?

So I've never attempted to catch someone's page views by screenshot and win a feature...but well tonight I said.."why not?" Well I got it! For 's 70,000 page view! So she is going to feature me on her page! Woo! I have a meek 3,766+ page views. I know a lot of people on DA say stuff like how page views don't matter/mean nothing...but well..if you don't have page views, people aren't really seeing your stuff..and well, I want people to see my work!
